Harkirit Boparai has over a decade of experience in venue management, cultural advocacy, and diverse live and club promotions over in York; and building on work he did for the Yorkshire region during the pandemic as MVT’s Regional Coordinator.

Our Goals

Listen closely to local music sector professionals and map their needs.
Connect network participants with each other to spark discourse and opportunities.
Share best practices between members and offer them support to grow their business.
Be the voice of West Yorkshire’s music professionals to national and international bodies, government, and businesses.
Champion the economic strength of our music sector to attract inward investment and opportunities.
Partner with existing networks in music-adjacent fields like TV, gaming, and health.

The Steering Group

The Steering Group play a key role in shaping the West Yorkshire Music Network. They work closely with the Network Manager and Coordinator, as well as the broader West Yorkshire Music Network team including representatives from the West Yorkshire Combined Authority, Leeds Conservatoire, Come Play With Me and CREATE Britain.

Members of the Steering Group help make sure the network is inclusive and represents everyone involved in music across the region. They will guide the direction of the network and provide advice and support to help it grow and succeed.
